　　　　　　　　　　This school, situated in 20km North of Hua Hin(famous resort area), holds about 150 school children. About half of them(mainly 1,2,3 grade) together with teachers welcomed us with open arms.

• ① Presents(hand-written pictures of their daily school activities) from school children of Nishinomiya, Kobe
• ② Traditional “Kick-Boxing” performance by Thai children
• ③ Explanation of traditional Japanese festivals, food, and 4 seasons, coupled with plays/games popular among children
• ④ How does Japan depend on Thailand on “food/textiles, etc”?
• ⑤ Sing very popular songs in both countries together.
• ⑥ Presents “Picture-Card” show
• ⑦ Activity Time;

　◎Sep6(Sat) Mangrove Planting at Bang Up Recreation Center, SamutPrakarn

　　　　　　　☆ After hearing how mangroves helps work better for the global environment,

                      we planted about 600 trees with school children.

　　　　　　　☆ In the evening cooked Thai meals together with local people. Very much satisfied

                      with superb Thai food dinner. And sitting around the camp fire, enjoyed games/plays

                     and Thai dancing.

◎Sep7(Sun)　　☆Klong Maha Wong Elementary School, Samut Prakarn

　Located in a very quiet, beautiful area. Our visit fell on Sunday, but all school children as well as

  teachers and their parents were present and gave us a very warm welcome. They were

 the children who we had planted “mangrove” together on the previous day(Sep6)at Nature

 Education Center.

• ③ Soccer and Hand ball games between Japanese college students and school children,
•      local young people.
• ④ Learn “Dancing” from Cheer-Leaders
• ⑤ One of ACEA members clad in Yukata walks in the school garden. Soon became very
•      popular among children/local people
• ⑥ All enjoyed chatting over good lunch

　Comments　　　

• （１） ★From Principals of the two schools:

 Our children are very much delighted in getting the presents of pictures/photos in which

show how Japanese school children spend every day studying and playing at schools in Kobe.

 It is such a very short time to get engaged in singing, dancing, playing some sports with you.

All of our children as well as teachers/parents are more than happy to visit us and get to know

various kinds of traditional games and plays through this wonderful cultural exchange activities. 

 In the near future, we do hope the day may come when some of the children here at present,

stimulated by your visit, will find a chance to come over to Japan for study.

       ★From the people of SamutPrakarn Province

   Had a lot of fun cooking Thai dishes together！ Although we found it a Little hard to communicate

 each other at the beginning, soon we could get into the swing of the things easily.

The dishes we cooked together turned out superb and delicious!!  Next time we wish you could

teach the cuisine of your country.  Now could you find a lot of satisfaction in our dancing with traditional

 Thai costumes? We sincerely hope that you may come back and spend a wonderful evening

together sitting around the camp fire, by dancing, playing games and chatting(laughing)very soon.

　　　◎ KANDA Noriko(Ex-Elementary School Teacher Age59)　　　　　

Bright eyes of children that lives still vividly in our memory!  Had really a whale of time drawing

pictures, trying “Kimono/Yukata” on, and exchanging smiles, only with limited words of

conversation.  This time am also happy to have been able to deliver pictures and photos

prepared　by elementary school children in Kobe to the school in Hua Hin. There is strongly　

hoping that this simple act of the exchange might be able to serve the purpose of bringing up good　

relations between the two countries and，at the same time, be able　to help develop into some

communication among children. One of the highlight of this trip was that I could get a feeling

 that I had done something to contribute to the world global warming by planting “mangrove”

together with school children in Samut-Prakaｒn Province. If I could, I wish come　and see

how the mangrove trees I had planted might grow in 5 or 6 years from　now.

　◎ NOKUBO Mikiko (Ex-Nurse, Age 56)

      This was the 3^rd time to take part in “Cultural Exchange Caravan.” Just before departure,

had worried very much about the safety of Thailand, but there was no troubles at all.

Our trip this time featured: ①. Visit elementary school in Hua Hin area for cultural exchange

 ②. Planted “about 540 mangrove trees” with　elementary school children in Samut Prakaｒn

Province  ③. Enjoyed Cooking　Thai food. Spent a wonderful nights sitting around the camp fire,

dancing,　singing, and playing games with local people of the Province. Was very happy that

 I could meet those beautiful, bright eyes of children, which certainly gave me a lot of energy for

my future life. Lastly would like to say “Thank you” for well arrangements of this tour, especially

favor Mr.Hanai, Techan, and other volunteers in Thailand.

   ◎ KAWAKAMI Takayuki　（Italian　Chef,　Age　５７）　　　　　

      Children’s eyes full of energetic, bright and pure welcomed us with open arms at Hua Hin,

which is located far from modern skyscrapers in the city. They, as a matter of fact, reminded

me of my child days when no TV games, nor cell phones were available. Got refreshed by myself,

and had a feeling that I could find something in them the Japanese children have been long

missing nowadays.

　　◎ OKAMOTO Azusa (College　Student  Age19)　　　　　　

 Had a killing of time talking, dancing, playing games with children, though there existed

language barriers among us in the first part of the culture exchange meeting. In time passing by,

however, their pure, clean eyes on top of broad smiles gave me kind of feelings of great joys

and relaxation I had never met in the past.  How sad I felt when a good-bye time had arrived! 

Indeed, wished that I could spend much more time being with them! This trip experience for

sure gave me a new sensation created in me.

 

　Lastly we, NPO ACEA,  would like to express our hearty-felt thanks to those people and

organizations who have supported and cooperated with this “2008 Japan-Thailand Cultural

Exchange.”  It is truely a tribute to all mentioned below that we were able to succeed i

◆事業概要
◎９月５日〈金〉　チャアム地区の小学校訪問、交流
☆　バーンノーンパオターン小学校にて
由緒正しき王室のリゾート地区ホァフィンから約２km北にある小学校。
今回は全校生徒〈約１５０名〉の内低学年を中心に、この行事に参加。　
先生方共々大歓迎してくださる。

① 日本の小学校からのプレゼント贈呈
② タイの生徒によるタイムエタイ姿でのパフォーマンス
③ 日本の四季や祭り、昔からの子どもの遊びの紹介
④ 日本がタイから輸入している食材等の紹介
⑤ 日・タイ童謡歌を歌う（象さん、大きな栗の木の下でー振り付き）
⑥ 紙芝居
⑦ お遊び交流タイム

　　　◎９月６日〈土〉　　サムットプラカーン地区でのマングローブ植林と地元の人達との交流

　　　　　　　☆マングローブ植林地センターにて引き潮時間帯を利用し、アセア参加メンバー全員と地元の小学生約５０人

                     と共にマングロ ーブの苗木を植える。

　　　　　　　☆夕方より自然研修センター近くの特設会場にて、タイ料理を地元の皆さんに教わりながら一緒に調理する。

                     日・タイ共同作 のタイ料理。その旨さに感激の夕食タイムを過ごす。その後、キャンプファイヤーとなり、

                    タイの古来からの踊りを観賞。盛り上がって最終は時を忘れて共に舞う。

◎９月７日〈日〉　サムットプラカーン地区の小学校訪問、地元の人々も含めて交流
☆クロングマーウォン小学校にて
のどかな町の中心にある小学校。
緑が多く、とりわけ校庭が美しい。
休日にもかかわらず校長先生
以下全生徒や地元の人 達が集まり、大歓迎を受ける。　
この学校の子供達と一緒に昨日マングローブを植えた。

① タイの伝統的な楽器での演奏
② タイの伝統的な神の踊りの披露
③ 日本から訪問した大学生と子どもたちや地元の若者たちとサッカーやハンドボール等を楽しむ
④ 応援合戦としてのチェア-ダンス等を共に踊る
⑤ 日本の浴衣を着て校庭を歩くパフォーマンス。少しばかりの扇子と共に最後にプレゼント。
⑥ 先生方とみどり濃い木々の下でランチバイキングを楽しむ

☆午後は、研修として「ムアンボーラーン」に入園。タイ国内にある名所・旧跡などをミニアチュアにしたテーマパークを楽しむ。

９月８日〈月〉　　朝バンコクを出て、夜全員無事に関西国際空港の到着

★小学校殻〈両校の校長の挨拶より〉

日本の同年代の子どもたちの絵や写真のプレゼントは大変うれしいです。　自国（タイ）の紹介も子供達を通じて披露することもできました。又、いろんな日本の遊びも知り一緒に楽しめ、想像以上の「異文化交流」に大満足ですし、幸せでした。また、いつの日かこの子供達が日本に留学することになればよろしくお願いします。

★サムットプラカーン県地元の皆さんから

一緒にタイ料理を作ったけれど、すぐに打ち解けて、とっても楽しい時間だったわ。もちろん、お味もよく出来て美味しかったし！！　今度は日本料理を教えてほしいね。　それから、美しい衣装を着けて踊ったタイ舞踊に大きな拍手をもらえて嬉しかったです。　　最後に、終わりたくなかったですね！　別れたくなかったですね！！

子どもたちのキラキラした目と優しい笑顔が忘れられません。ホアヒンでの小学生と交流。　感動いっぱい、笑顔いっぱいの、素敵で楽しい時間でした。　また、タイ語のシールを貼った日本の絵本を非常に喜んでもらえた。

 今年もタイと日本のメッセージ交換を行いました。　小学校からのメッセージを届けるという橋渡しだけでしたが、未来をう子ども達が、相手の国にどのような思いを抱いたのか聞いてみたい気がしています環境破壊、地球温暖化 が近年問題になっています。　現地の子ども達と一緒にマングローブ植林に参加でき、本当に嬉しかったです。

できれば何年か先、マングローブの森を見にまたタイを訪れたいです。

タイのボランティアはスマトラ沖地震後今回で3回目。　行く前は暴動のニュースで不安を感じていたが,着いて安全で影響ないことにまず一安心。　タイのマイペンライ(大丈夫）という言葉がピッタリだった。　

ホアヒンの小学校の子供達と日本の遊びを通じて心の交流を出きたこと，そしてマングローブ520本植えたこと． その地域の人々と交流してタイ料理を一緒に作って食べたこととても有意義でした。　子供達の目の輝きに私達も元気が貰う事が出来ました。　行って良かった．と心の温かさを感じる．グローバルの花井さん、てっちゃん，そして、ボランティアの皆さん有り難う。　またお会いしましょう！

　　　　　近代的な高層ビルから一歩離れると純粋で生き生きと輝いている子供達の姿が私を温かく迎えてくれました。全身を使ってコミユニケーションしてくれた子供達にTVゲームや携帯電話のなかった私の子ども時代を思い出し、 今の日本人の子供達が忘れかけているものを発見した思いです。

　　　　　一番心に残っているのは小学生との交流です。　言葉の壁を考え最初は少し不安でしたが、子供たちの笑顔が後押ししてくれました。少しの時間だったのにアレほど別れが寂しいとは、、、、、、、。      目に見えない何かをたくさんもらった気がします。
